| I make a few custom guitars a year. Although I really would like to make more, my repair jobs consume time and is very hard.
Since 2004, I have sold four detatchable neck types and for this year I am building two more. Prices start at $3,000 for one of these. I can do "distressed" finishes if the customer wishes one. I am also developing a line of set neck guitars, which you see some pictures of on this page. These are still under development and are not for sale at the moment. If you would like to know more about them, please ask. I place high emphasis on the quality of the wood used in my guitars. They should have a pleasing resonance and be structurally stable, so that the end result is a guitar that sounds good and stays stable. I have a supply of maple, rosewood, ebony and mahogany for future use. Alder and ash I obtain from vendors I trust. I try not to make a guitar during the summer, when the weather is humid. Since leaving Sadowsky in 2003, I have not made a cusom electric bass. To be honest, I had grown tired of making mostly basses which is why I have been making guitars. However, I am very capable of building a custom electric bass to suit your needs. Please ask if you are interested. I have helped customers replace a neck or a body on a detatchable electric instrument. Sometimes, the original neck is too worn for a fret change, or is structually unsound. I do not recommend "switching" a body or neck unless it is absolutely necessary though. I have also helped customers complete their "parts" guitars, fret dressing, making nuts, electronics work, etc. I am very flexible with these things, so just ask. As you may be able to see in the pictures, I use a wide range of parts and materials such as wire, solder and capacitors to fine tune your sound. Some are new, some are old, all of them sound different. I also sometimes make custom guitar cables. These use an original method that was devised by Honda Sound Works in Japan (patent applied for) and by Minoru, my webmaster. These are highly customizable and prices basically start around around $50. Due to my busy repair schedule, it is really hard for me to accept orders on custom guitars, basses and cables on a regular basis. I'm afraid I don't have any sample instruments for you to try out, either. If you are interested, you will have to talk to me. For now, I hope you enjoy the eye candy! Norio |
